Module 5: Blood & Tissue Samples & Interpreting Reports

Guidelines for diagnostic laboratory testing may vary from location to location, but the interpretation of the results are common. The best medicine is delivered with knowledge and facts. Here, students will learn common tests, the samples required to run them and how to read results.

Course Outline

Section 1 - How to Collect, Store and Ship Tissue Samples
The radiograph machine is one of the most important tools an equine veterinarian has. Learn basic procedures and safety protocols for operation and use of this machine.

Section 2 - Common Diagnostic Tests and Use
The Ultrasound Machine is used for diagnosis of soft tissue structures in the horse. This section will review its operation and safety procedures when in use. 

Section 3 - Reading and Interpreting Diagnostic Reports
The Shockwave Machine is used to treat soft tissue injuries in horses. This section will review its operation and safety procedures when in use. 
**This course is required for all students taking the full Rullan University program. Students may not test out of this module.
